Sarasota Sheriffs' Office to Sponsor 3rd Annual Gulf Coast Terrorism Prevention Conference
Sarasota, FL (PRWEB) May 2, 2008 -- For the third year running, the Sarasota County Sheriffs' Office is proud to host the Gulf Coast Terrorism Prevention Conference. The conference, a platform to further educate law enforcement and security professionals on combating terrorism, gathers world experts to give instruction on how to detect and prevent threats of suicide terror, improvised explosive devices, and other dangers.
"This conference shows Sarasota's ongoing commitment to Homeland Security and the War on Terror. It is a great opportunity for law enforcement and security professionals from across the country to visit this great city, learn more about fighting terror, and share information critical to the safety of the nation," said a spokesperson for the Sheriff's Office.
The conference schedule is as follows:
Day 1
Morning: Protecting Schools Against Terrorism
Afternoon: Suicide Bomber Training in the U.S.
Day 2
Jihad 2.0 - From Virtual to Physical (This all day session features a keynote presenter from Israel)
As SSI CEO Solomon Bradman explains, "The Jihad 2.0 workshop is about knowing your enemy, the first step towards 'connecting the dots' and ultimately - saving lives in your communities. It highlights the need to be alert to all stages of the Jihadi threat lifecycle, at all levels, utilizing a wide variety of information sources fused into a complete threat analysis. It is therefore highly relevant to all members of the counter-terrorism community who wish to acquire, and effectively apply, the innovative counter-measures that are required in order to win the War on Terror."
